May 31st, is World No Tobacco Day, observed annually on May 31st. It was first organized by the World Health Organization (WHO) on May 31, 1988, to raise awareness of the health risks associated with tobacco use and the harmful effects of smoking. The purpose of World No Tobacco Day is to encourage smokers to quit and to raise awareness among governments, communities, and the global population about the importance of tobacco control.
