Get ready for an extraordinary journey as we take you through a scenic route from Bangkok, passing through 8 provinces to Nong Khai, and onwards to Vientiane, the capital of Laos, with exciting attractions along the way!
We begin the tour in Bangkok, a vibrant capital rich in culture. Before setting off, don’t forget to visit iconic landmarks such as Wat Phra Kaew and the Grand Palace. If shopping is your thing, make sure to stroll through popular malls like Siam Paragon or CentralWorld. From there, we depart Bangkok via the expressway and Highway 1, heading towards Saraburi, and then take Highway 2 to Nakhon Ratchasima.
Upon arriving in Korat (Nakhon Ratchasima), you’ll experience the peaceful atmosphere of Mittraphap Road before we take a break at Nakhon Ratchasima Zoo, the first stop on this trip. After that, we continue to the Phimai Historical Park, a site full of stunning beauty and fascinating historical stories. Once we’ve finished exploring, we resume our journey on Highway 2, heading towards Khon Kaen.
n Khon Kaen, we’ll visit Wat Nong Wang Phra Aram Luang, a magnificent sacred temple. Nearby is Bueng Kaen Nakhon, where you can relax and enjoy the breathtaking views of the large lake. From there, we head back onto Highway 2, continuing on to Nong Khai.
In Nong Khai, we’ll visit the peaceful and sacred Wat Pho Chai, home to the revered Luang Por Phra Sai Buddha statue. Then, enjoy a leisurely stroll along Nong Khai Walking Street by the Mekong River, where you can shop and taste local delicacies. Afterward, we’ll prepare to cross the First Thai-Lao Friendship Bridge into Laos and reach Vientiane.
Finally, we arrive in Vientiane, the charming capital of Laos. Here, you’ll explore historical landmarks like the magnificent Pha That Luang, the beautiful Patuxai Arch, or take a morning walk at the local market to experience Lao life. Don’t miss the National Museum of Laos, where you’ll learn about the country’s unique history and culture.
After soaking in the charm and history of Vientiane, it’s time to cross the First Thai-Lao Friendship Bridge back into Nong Khai. You can stop for coffee by the Mekong or shop for souvenirs at the Nong Khai Walking Street. We then continue our journey via Highway 2, passing through Khon Kaen and Nakhon Ratchasima, where you might want to pause for a photo or a delicious meal along the way. Finally, we return to Bangkok via Saraburi, bringing home fond memories of a trip filled with culture and nature on both sides of the border.
