Not stopping for pedestrians at crosswalks may result in a fine!

All licensed drivers start with 12 points, which will be deducted immediately upon committing an offense. This system encourages everyone to be more cautious when using the roads.

Penalties under the law:

Fines up to 4,000 baht 💵
1 point deducted from the driving record for misconduct ❌
Parking on the crosswalk results in a fine not exceeding 500 baht 💸
🔹 What happens if you are reduced to 0 points? ❓ ⚠️ Your driver’s license will be suspended, and you cannot drive for 90 days. ⚠️ If you drive while your license is suspended, you face up to 3 months in prison and a fine of up to 10,000 baht. ⚠️ If you have your license suspended more than 3 times within 3 years, the suspension will exceed 90 days. If you continue to have points deducted and are suspended again within 1 year, your license will be revoked for all types of vehicles!

Therefore, when driving and approaching a crosswalk, you must slow down or prepare to stop at least 3 meters away from the crosswalk and wait for pedestrians to finish crossing before proceeding. In some areas, there will be traffic lights for pedestrians at crosswalks, and drivers should always be vigilant and comply with the law for safety.
